Abstract

The purpose of this study is to explain the pathways to improve the competitiveness in Iran’s industry with focus on Tire industry. ”Nelson-Winter” is a considerable pattern in the field of prompting competitiveness in the last two decades. This pattern focuses on the concept of technology and firm’s organization as basic information which conforms to new institutional approach.
The evaluation performed using the model of Nelson-Winter in the Tire industry shows that pathway to promote the competitiveness is only possible by technology inclusive innovation and imitation, and this would be possible by improving the environment for growth of science and inter-firm relation, besides it is important to consider to scale by merging firms together in Tire industry.
