بررسی اثر تجارت بر سرریز دموکراسی در کشورهای در حال توسعه: با استفاده از رهیافت اقتصادسنجی فضایی

چکیده

رابطه میان اقتصاد و دموکراسی همواره یکی از بحث برانگیزترین مسائل رشته‌های مختلف علوم انسانی بوده است. در بیشتر مطالعات دموکراسی به عنوان یک متغیر تأثیرگذار بر متغیرهای اقتصادی در مدل‌های اقتصادسنجی وارد شده است و کم‌تر به تأثیرپذیری دموکراسی از متغیرهای اقتصادی پرداخته شده است. بر اساس ادبیات اقتصادی از مهم‌ترین متغیرهای اقتصادی موثر بر دموکراسی تجارت و رشد اقتصادی هستند. از این رو، در این پژوهش به بررسی اثر تجارت بر سرریز سطح دموکراسی در کشورهای در حال توسعه با رویکرد اقتصادسنجی فضایی و در نظر گرفتن وابستگی فضایی جغرافیایی آن‌ها به صورت مقطعی در سال 2014‌ پرداخته شده است. نتایج پژوهش نشان می‌دهد که تجارت خارجی اثر مثبت و معنی‌داری بر دموکراسی داشته، ولی رشد اقتصادی اثر معنی‌داری بر دموکراسی نداشته است. همچنین، اثر مجاورت فضایی بر بهبود سطح دموکراسی در کشورهای مورد مطالعه تأیید شده است. به طور کلی نتایج پژوهش اثرات فضایی تجارت و مجاورت جغرافیایی بر بهبود سطح دموکراسی را تأیید می‌کند.

چکیده [English]

The relationship between economy and democracy has always been one of the most controversial issues in humanities studies. In most studies, democracy has been considered as a factor affecting economic variables, but the influence of economic variables on democracy has been investigated much less. Based on the literature, the most important and effective economic factors of democracy are trade and economic growth. Therefore, in this paper, the impacts of trade on democracy have been investigated based on spatial econometric and geographical proximity in 2014.  The results show that foreign trade has a significant and positive effect on democracy, but economic growth has no significant effect on it. Also, the effect of spatial proximity on improving the level of democracy in developing countries is approved. In general, the results confirm the spatial effects of geographical proximity and trade on improving democracy.
